With a glut of items on the market, buying new fitness equipment can be a daunting experience.
Excitement fills my gym this week as I purchased a new fitness toy for the gym.
For many years, my wish list included a Pilates Reformer. Instead of purchasing the costly reformer, I bought the portable version called MOTR from Balanced Body.
I genuinely love the lightness of the MOTR. I can quickly put it anywhere in my gym. It’s also easy to change the MOTR’s settings.
All levels welcomed
The multiple variations, progressions of exercises on the MOTR range from beginner to advanced. I used the MOTR for each client this week. Everyone is excited to use the MOTR. After the initial instruction of Pilates exercises, I will be able to easily incorporate strength training with the MOTR, resistance training, during their sessions.
Aforementioned, the MOTR accommodates all levels. This week, I demonstrated what I thought was level appropriate for each client; then, I turned it over to them. I know my clients well enough to understand where they should begin. If they were unable to keep the form, I modified the activity.
Balance and Core training
I believe balance and core training are the most important. Each workout, whether for myself or client, contains balance and core training. The MOTR is terrific for these two categories!
As an example, you can do upper body exercises three different ways. For the beginner, sit on the roller. For the intermediate level, kneel. For the advanced client, stand on the roller. Also, keep in mind that you can change the resistance on the MOTR to further challenge the client.
In my several years of Pilates experience, I used all the Balanced Body apparatuses. I can tell you that the quality of each product is fantastic, including the MOTR!
